    Riding Ponies

I have been riding for 10 years, and at my age(15), I stand only 5'2.
This is a pony that a friend and I trained. The other month at a show, I heard some nasty comments from parents and trainers about me riding the pony(Panda is 12.2).

I was, in fact, riding him as a warm up for a 6 year old.

    What's your opinions?
(We did walk/trot pleasure, pony pleasure open, and cross rail hunters. He places second in walk/trot, and first in the other two)

(And the thing I don't understand about the cruel comments at the show was that I was there to show this horse. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...29469657_n.jpg
People saw me riding the big boy, they knew that I was truly competing on him. But they all focused on the three classes where a teen was riding a pony, as if it never happens)

What do I think? Rules are rules, whether or not I would have done what you did. You were allowed to enter the class. The parents and trainers should complain to show management if they think riders on horses should not be allowed to also enter into classes riding a pony that is 12.2 hands.

I also think you should have buttoned up your collar while you were in the ring on your pony.

I think you both look cute. I personally ride a 13.2 pony, and am 5"5-6, while a little taller, I've gotten lots of comments about how I should be on a big horse..
Honestly, I think they can get over it. You are not hurting the pony any, and you're having fun. If its okay in the rule-book they can't say anything to you.

What kind of comments were they making?
