When you refer to "field boots", would you be talking about paddock boots? Perhaps the sort that have the laces in the middle, are leather, and a flat bottom/slight heel? If so, I have a pair of Ariat paddock boots which I wear with half-chaps for all of my riding...I do this as for me THAT was the cheaper route to go than purchasing $300 tall boots for everyday riding/around-the-stable work, etc...you can even pick up a very nice used pair on Craigslist or Ebay
-they'll have tons...possibly even Amazon
.com (even if QUITE used, they can be cleaned up nicely and polished, so long as there are no holes and the sole/stitching are in good condition) for anywhere from $30-$50!
Just an idea! It's how I've managed to get quite a few pairs that now look brand-new for under $100 TOTAL...
Good luck to you! Hope this helped... Posted via Mobile Device
