Non- horse person peeves.

Why so pissy? I too have stalls that I use for terrible weather.

I was referring to people thinking that horses should be stalled the majority of the time.

She was just stating her opinion. Just like you were. After all, this is a public forum where we can all state our opinions freely. Anyhow, My horse has a blanket and he stays outside all year long. He has trees and a very thick blanket and he grows a super thick coat. He prefers not having a blanket on at all.

Another pet peeve. When people think that all horses are wild bucking broncos. Or sweet little kittens that wouldn't dare hurt you. Nope. They can hurt you and occasionally will hurt you as well. Accident or not.

It drives me nuts when people drive up my butt on a hill. I drive a stick and there is always a little rollback so get off my backside!

Well,things just got a whole lot more interesting. Fourteen, the only thing wrong with me is having midterms all week and studying for it way through out the night. Thanks for asking.

Another pet pevee, When you get people asking to go into the pasture with you to see the horse, but then they run and hide behind because they think the horse is going to eat them.

I think more horsey people annoy me than non-horsey people, come to think of it. Hmm.. Actually about even.

The people who own horses just to own a horse, but do nothing with. Then they lecture you on how to care for your horse.... Uh, excuse me? When was the last time you saw your horse? Do ya even know its name? Just because you read in a book that horses wear shoes doesn't mean mine has to. And yes, my horses stand in the rain. If they didn't want to be in the rain, they would go in their shelter. I don't have to save them from the big, bad rain.

OR ... The folks who own horses but are terrified of touching them or riding them outside a pen. I have a friend, love her to death, but she is convinced her horse is evil incarnate and it took me a long, long time to convince her to let her horse do anything more than walk. (She's not a bad mare, just inexperienced... Because, well, she needs experience!)

Non-horsey...

When someone (you don't know, never met) comes around and let's their kids grab tails, go under, hang off neck, wrap around hooves like little spider monkeys, etc.

Or when they just suggest that their kids should ride the horsey. ??????

Or, when people just start asking to ride the horse. "I rode a horse when I was 12, so lemme get on there and see what this fella (side note, I have a mare) can do!

When you are working an unruly 2 year old who is flipping out and a naysayer starts running up to you, screaming "You're hurting him!" ( FYI, this particular horse had some severe issues, and all I was doing at that time was was trying to get him to go left. Not really knowing anything, he was going anywhere but- and no, I wasn't beating him, he was freaking himself out. I was merely patiently waiting for him to get his brain back... When the girl yelling got too close- he was a dangerous guy- I did swat her real quick and told her less politely than I could to go away before he inadvertently killed her).

You know what really hurts, is when I go to a horse show on my mule and people act like I'm lower class

Really? That is so rude of them! There are a few mules that are in my show circuit. I really like to watch them and their owners. I think they are so cool, and I would love to own a mule or two.
