Actually you're right, it was all one word. And I always heard it called War Between the States too. Never heard Civil War until High School History. We still stand for "Dixie" too, the OTHER national anthem.

I love it! Born and raised down here in the swamp, we aint no southern belle's but we're country. We dem "Crackers" .

My dad always used to say dam Yankees, that one must be universal. My sweet old grandma third generation Savannah would say "oh that's so n*ggerish" :O different generation I guess

The other day we stopped at a pizza place for lunch and it was full of Confederates in full uniform. They had just won the Battle of Chancellorsville for the 152nd time.......
