Well, I ain't never been a horse owner so I pro'lly have no right to post in this thread, but I need to add something.

...Just because I admire the beauty of horses does not mean that I go gaga over every horse picture/book/toy/knickknack on the planet! Yes, I do collect them, but I'm VERY PICKY about what I add to the collection.

No, I don't want that ugly resin made-in-China dollar store yellow rearing stallion with human eyes! Ugh. Nor do I want that 23 year old well-played with, scuffed and Magic Markered Breyer with broken ear tips and a severely bent leg standing on my shelf. I also don't want that horsey picture book intended for three year olds (that my well-meaning sister actually gave me *facepalm*) Or most likely practically any other horse-shaped object you can find. 98% of "equine collectibles"/books/jewelry/movies/etc. simply do not interest me.

There, I said it.

yes the slight smell of horses (in places like at school coming from my horsey friends boots) is very comforting :)

No, I don't like plaid-- oh, you think that's weird because I am a "farmer", and farmers wear plaid-- well if you looked at my little dirt patch I call a garden, you would think twice

Non horse people do not have a clue about the bond between a rider and a horse. I have tried to explain to my non horse neighbor that it is not weird that I go out in my jammies in the middle of the night when I can't sleep and talk to my horse. She is my best friend.

not riding in a week is a bad thing!!

going 30 mph is fast for a trail riding horse :p

you dont just "sit more" when the horse bucks- go back and learn physics or my horse will teach it to you!

Oh haha exactly! I told my friend that she could come see my horse at fair. She showed up meter at 11:30 at night and I was leaning against my horse(who was laying down in her stall) and talking about the day to her. My friend looked in the stall and have me a 'your talking to your horse- really?' Look. I believe she thinks I'm crazy- and the best part is: I don't care!

Just because I like horses and you don't doesn't mean that you have any right to make fun of me for loving horses!!!

Or-horses are for much more than riding, and no, a dirt bike is not a better investment!!!

Ugh boys.

Today i was at a local agriculture fair watching a mini show, and there was this one girl talking really loud and hitting her brother with a balloon and waving it around near the horses. Good thing none of those horses [got] spooked! Also, there was this one boy petting a mini without the owners permission, and as soon as the boy put his hand on the mini, he/she pinned his/her ears back! Don't know if i'm happy or sad that the kid didn't get bit!

i have no idea what i am doing

When the moms say to their kids, "Pet them on their nose, they like that!"

Or when a horse takes of with somebody and they are screaming for help and you tell them what to do and they get the horse to come back and they are like, "I knew what I was doing, I made him do that on purpose!" (And the horse was running the rider through a pricker bush!)

Horses are scared of 2 things:
1. Things that move
2. Things that don't
