How about:

Raising a foal does not mean it will grow up to be perfect and have a fabulous, unbreakable bond with you. They do not work that way. They are not dogs.

I did, and after consideration, I am apologetic for how I went around that.. I had a bad day and that just kind of flipped my lid, however it was not appropriate for me to do that and respond in such a manor. My apologies, members of Horseforum.

Another thing...just because a horse is "big" doesn't mean it isn't a baby. And just because my green 5 year old "looks the same" as a 17 year old seasoned trail horse, does NOT mean you can hop on her and expect her to behave the same!

Here's one that occurred to me last night talking to a lesson client.

Just because I ride horses does not mean that I know everyone in the county that rides horses.

"Do you know __________?" "No, I don't think so, why?" "Oh, she has a horse"

Adding on to the list....

- its a miniature HORSE, not a miniature PONY
- I don't know of anyone who actually yells 'giddy up' to make their horse move...
- just because I am a beginner does not mean I am a bad rider
- and I was telling a horse person that my ankles hurt after a long trail ride (riding western of course) and she (rides english) said "how? You just sit there". And I thought later 'what kind of horse to you ride where you just sit there???'... ugh, I mean, yeah there is more thing that you have to 'do' in a english saddle, but you don't just SIT in a western saddle.
