Yes I ride a Thoroughbred, no im not a jockey.
Just because that pony is cute does not make it sweet.
Its not a real sport? And how many athltic relationships have you had to manage with someone 10x's your size in order to win?

5. The horses in the field laying in the sun are NOT dead, they’re just napping.

6. Jumping is not what you see in the old western movies

7. You cannot just throw a saddle on ANY horse, and expect to ride it.

8. Yes it IS hard to ride a horse, no it does NOT do all the work and NO you don’t just SIT THERE.

9. True in the wild horses didn’t live in stalls, wear blankets or get their feet trimmed, but they also did not do dressage or jump 3’ with an extra 180# on their backs.

10. There’s a difference between galloping for fun and being run away with.

11. Just because my horse is a boy does not mean he is a stallion.

12. Kicking a horse in the ribs and yelling “YAAAHHH” isn’t the appropriate way to start.

13. An awful lot of the big names in the movies actually couldn’t really ride that well. The horse deserved his own award for tolerance.

14. I’m 24. I live at the barn, I pay my bills by working with horses. I’M NOT GOING TO GROW OUT OF IT. ITS NO LONGER JUST A PHASE!

15. In real life, horses do not whinny constantly like they do in the movies.

17. No, he will not automatically kick you if you walk behind him.

18. Not *all* horses are either Beer Horses (Clydesdales) or Race Horses.

19. Just because you are a good rider doesn’t mean you no longer need a trainer.

20. Not ALL baby horses are COLTS! They’re FOALS and girl horse babies are called FILLIES! Colts are boys.

21. Getting a pony and keeping it in your backyard for the kids is not a good idea.

22. The nails in shoes are NOT sticking into the ‘feeling’ part. They horse really can’t feel the nails. I promise.

23. Rearing is not cool.

24. Jst because you have children, and I have horses, does not mean that the two groups shall be joined together, EVER.

25. No, these full chaps are ONLY used for riding horses, and no, I won’t wear them in the bedroom!

26. ALL chaps are Butt-less. If they had a butt, they’d be leather pants, wouldn’t they?

What do you wanna say?.............
Seems all the cowboys my way call everything a colt. Confused the heck out of me when I was horse shopping. This fellow is going on and on about this nice colt and I'm thinking, dude you'd better check his tender bits because something's missing! LOL

29. Why am I purple!? Because horses need baths too!
30. Not everyone uses a whip!
31. No, yelling "YAH!" will not make your horse go faster *all the time*.
32. Why yes, I am more aggressive than you, because I risk my life in my sport.
33. Lifting hay is lifting weights!
Think you forgot: No, you may not have my number and I only use my crop on intelligent animals - you're safe. ;)

Resting a leg DOES NOT mean they are going to kick. It means they're sleeping to avoid dealing with you;)

Yes my husband(then boyfriend) only rides huntseat. NO he is not gay, trust me.

I didn't learn to ride from a book (or dvd). I did it by riding in-15 degree weather, 100 degree weather, in the rain, and when I was sick.

Sometimes I have a friend come with me to the barn, boy or girl it has happened with both. Well.. a couple times (I was, at the time, riding a 7 year old that only had about 30 days on her 5 years before, she has some major issues) they would do something stupid and scare her and then when she spooked they would make it 100 times worse by either A. Squealing/Screaming and/or B. Running behind or near the horse. I literally had a guy s.c.r.e.a.m at the top of his lungs, drop whatever he was holding, and sprint around the horse. It's safe to say that I now no longer take people out to the barn with me.
