amazing clinic!

Last week I had the opportunity to ride with an unbelievable dressage trainer and I can't believe (ok I can...) how much it has helped my jumping and flatwork alike. We spent a ton of time on position and rhythm and transitions. My horse is going amazing this week, soooo light to my aids and much more willing, which I am sure is due to my being a lot more balanced and clear with what I am asking for.

I know people on this forum talk about dressage as a foundation for all disciplines a lot, and it is soooo true. All you hunters and jumpers out there, if you have the chance to take some dressage lessons, DO IT!

I believe in it. My trainer is dressage/jumping instructor with the strong focus on dressage on flat, and I must admit my horse is very different from what she used to be last year since I started taking lessons.

That's great! Lt's unbelievable how many things transfer from flatwork to jumping! And if you have a strong base in dressage/flatwork, the jumping becomes 10x easier. L ride hunter/jumper mainly, but the only clinic that l currently attend is a dressage clinic. That's great that you learned a lot from the clinic :)

I agree so much! I'm having consistent flatwork lessons for the first time in 3 years, and oh boy has it made a difference (let's not mention the fact that my muscles scream as I try to get out of bed the next day though!)
