Baby Green vs. Welcome Hunter vs. Warm Up Hunter... ack

Ok, so I competed in some lower level schooling shows last year, and this year I'm stepping it up a notch... schooling shows for 'Bronze' start next month and I was looking at the entry form and I'm lost...

Here are the classes, I need a bit of a 'low down' about the differences, if at all possible.

Hunter Hack - basically, walk, trot, canter, etc. as a group and then two fences individually, right?
Welcome Hunter - 2' 2'3
Low Working Hunter - 2' - 2'3
Warm-Up Hunter - 2' - 2'3
Low Working Hunter - 2'3 - 2'6

And then the flat classes are
Equitation
Hunter Under Saddle
English Pleasure
Road Hack

I know Equitation focuses on rider, obviously. Hunter Under Saddle focuses on horse, English Pleasure on horse, etc.
What I don't know is which ones are ridden as 'group' classes and which ones are like... patterns? That you ride on your own. So yeah. Help please?

If im correct they'll all(except for the Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, English Pleasure, and Road Hack) ask for a little flat work and then they will also give you a pattern i'm not for sure that's just what most of the shows I go to always do

No, most of the over fences courses I'm pretty sure don't give you flat work, it's a course... I'm asking what the difference between the categories are.

English Pleasure and Road Hack are all group classes where you only work on the flat if that helps :)

To the best of my knowledge, all of these classes are not going to give you a pattern to follow. All the flat classes that you listed are going to be different variations on walk-trot-canter. The pleasure class will be looking for a slower gait, while the road hack will want a more forward gait (95% sure, but not 100%). The road hack is most likely to be based off wanting a horse that could cover ground for mail delivery type of thing...(or that would be my assumption). Hacks are *normally* all flat classes, but they could vary province to province, state to state. Maybe if it was a rated 'A' show, and they were having trouble pinning, they would make them jump a fence, but I've only ever seen flat hack classes. Doesn't mean an over fences one doesn't exist somewhere though!

When I think pattern classes, I think a Halter class, Trail Class (both western, or possibly a Hunter-in-Hand class.

What were you competeing last year?

To me, as I only show in schooling shows so far, the only difference is really the height in the different classes.

Green Hunter/Welcome Hunter--Either a first year hunter/first year rider.

Warm-up is most likely just that....a warm-up, which you also probably paid for last year as well... Normally each division would have a warm-up, but they possibly only have the one at a smaller height.
