    Bareback Awesomeness

So Thursday I hopped on my Haflinger bareback and decided to ride her around for a few minutes where I school at the bottom of our field. She's a very tough pony to ride, very unique, and I'm really the only one that knows how to make her get around without killing us both. I never thought we'd be jumping, but she decided she was going to be ok today and I decided to do some small things. I've never jumped her over 2'9 cleanly, with a saddle and I've never jumped over 2'9 myself. Last time I jumped her bareback was up to 2'6.
She hasn't been jumped in over 2 months and I haven't jumped in over a month and a half and I haven't done much stirrupless work since last September, so I never expected this.
    The jump was 3'6"!!!
And it was super easy for me. I understand she can't do a full course and I don't want her to, I have a new horse that will be getting to that height this fall/winter, but man! I'd like to improve my eq but I think it was great for as much bareback experience she and I have had.

I know virtually nothing about English riding, but I do know how difficult bareback can be so that is awesome! Sounds like a great confidence boost for the both of you!:)

I'm sad you lost your photo! Would have loved to see it.

I just love riding days where you feel like the king of the world...!
