    Alright, I've got a set answer. Side pulls were banned from the Jumper ring in 2012 under KHJA. In 2013, the rule was revised and revoked. Side pulls and other bit less bridles ARE legal, though do have regulations. For example, a cruel, extremely complex hackamore wouldn't be legal.
