Do Breastplate Martingales work the same as Martingales?

A place I want to order some stuff from has a good deal on an oversize breastplate w/martingale attachment but I am not sure about if they are as effective as a regular standing martingale? And are they accepted in the Hunter ring?

they are absolutely as effective. Though I don't know about the hunter rules. My guess would be that only a "real" standing martingale would be accepted

They are just as effective. They are "acceptable" in the hunter ring, as in, they are legal, but it's considered an outdated trend. In fact I haven't seen in YEARS. (although I went to an Arab show last year and found out they're actually in style there!)
