    He looks like he needs more impulsion, not speed, but like someone else said, more "collection." Putting several canter or trot poles in front of the jump would help him maintain the quality of the gait. Also, grid work and gymnastics will help put him on his haunches more, and he will soon figure out launching himself wont work.
