Are you going to be jumping under the supervision of an instructor? Having one there will keep you from creating bad habits and make sure you are jumping safely.
Take lots of pictures and videos of yourself jumping. This way you can get an idea of your form, and where to fix yourself.
As for jumping, you can make your own grids, or ones from online. This will help improve your horses form, and getting him/her to snap up their legs properly.
