Smile How to improve riding? (Help!)

I know it seems kinda crazy but it's always been my dream to go to the Olympics for show jumping. I have been riding for about 5 years and I can jump 2'6 but it just seems to far away I only ride once a week :( I am getting my own horse but we haven't found on yet. The horse will be kept at home and I will be practicing every day. I know to improve your riding to ride without stirrups, go to clinics and I do Pilates at home but I want some more tips to get me where I want to be. -Holly :)

To improve you should just ride as much as you can! Work with an experianced trainer if possible. You can ride bareback, stirrupless, work on the lungeline to improve your position, and ride in two point. You should only jump your horse about twice a week. Good luck on getting your horse! That's very exciting : )

Practice practice practice. Also if you have a barrel at home, lay it on the ground straddle it. And work on your balance if you cannot get out and ride.

Someone recently suggested sitting on one of those pilates exercise balls instead of a chair. Guess it really helps with core stability and balance.

I replaced my computer chair with a exercise ball, its quite nice! I have seen that is has helped my posture, for sure :)
