I'm getting jumps for Christmas, colors???

My husband is making me 2 standards and some poles ... what colors should I have him paint them?

I was thinking hot pink and bright green ... what do you guys think?

Try and mix it up a bit, and go crazy. Scary jumps at home help horses get used to scary comp jumps.

And you can add to them with simple things like fake flowers held upright in sand boxes, colored buckets as fill (not metal tho), tires cut in half, painted, and then sat beside the standard to form a wing ect. You can make some pretty awesome things from stuff laying around the yard, if you use your imagination. Just evaluate each peice of junk for ways it could cause injury, before use.

ETA - painted 44 gallon drums make good wings and fill as well.

That would be cute! Red & green, green & gold, red & gold, etc. I'm sure they will look great!

Go with stripes, poka-dots and zig-zags....with super bright crazy colors!!!

I'm more of a tradionalist myself :p but at least if you get them in bright colours they are less likely to be stolen! I like brown and pink, maybe stripes or something?

Yeah I am thinking cute but also something to keep bomb proofing her :) I am just really stoked that my husband is handy and thought of this all on his own!

    Thanks for the ideas everyone!

I don't think it's the colours that will bomb proof your horse, but things like gates, chicken coups, blankets, bushes, pylons, etc.

    What are you barn colours?

I disagree horses can get afraid of colors they have not seen.

Maybe someone can correct me on this but I've heard that horses see primary colour much easier than they do others. At the barn most of the jumps are white and black, red, blue, and yellow.
I don't remember where I heard so it may be a myth, anyone heard this theory??
