Just thought I'd update you guys. We have been doing a ton of trot/canter poles and I've been making her stop and back up before jumping. Today, the jumping chute was set up, so I thought we'd give it a try. We are finally jumping successfully at beginner novice height and the rushing has gotten so much better. Also, all of the poles that made up the chute were kind of distracting for her, so it was just what we needed. I've also been giving her more release and not micromanaging everything, and she seems to like that. Here is the video, sorry for the horrible quality (it looked better on my phone), but you can get the idea. This was one of the last jumps and she was tired, so she knocked the poles.
