Question Jumping saddle

I want to start jumping Rosie pretty soon(we still have to do some more training/learning on the flat first) but I don't have an english saddle. All I have at a big western roping sadde. I want to get a wintec 500 cc but it could be another year or year ad a half before I get it. What should I do? Should I go with the roping saddle or just ride bareback. I just go Rosie so we are still fixing some things and teaching her some new concepts, but I would like to start going over ground poles/cross rails and then start jumping this spring. She has never jumped before so I'm not sure how she'll do...
Thanks,
tcg

You'll be fine to use the western saddle while getting HER basics down in flat work. You could ever start her over ground poles, but for YOU to be getting the basics down and get your position correct before you start jumping, you will need to get an english saddle.
You won't be able to get into the correct 2 point position in a western saddle, and you won't be able to start jumping in one either.
See if you can borrow one until you can afford your own.
You might be able to get away with bareback, but I wouldn't think that would be the best way to learn unless you have awesome balance.

When I got my first horse I used a western saddle for basics like Amir said. When it was time for me to actually jump I borrowed my trainers english saddle. You might be able to find a cheeper one you like, I can give you some websites.

You can try craigslist. Sometimes their are some inexpensive saddles on there that will do the trick for now.
