    Huh, interesting replies! I've alwas been taught to never look at the jump, but to look at a spot above and beyond the jump and ride to that jump. If I'm looking at the jump, Ben squiggles and it's an akward distance, but if I really focus on looking up he is MUCH better about keeping a straight line and we find the distance usually

    Interesting article Irish - I have to disagree with some factors though, the biggest is "Don't take your eyes off the fence until your horse leaves the ground"

    I disagree with this as I've already stated in other jumping threads - because it creates a multitude of errors.

    Interesting read though.
