No talk about the Olympic team?

Tell me that I am not the only person here who was obsessively checking websites, FB and twitter for news about the Olympic team announcement at 3pm today.

The team is Rich Fellers, Reed Kessler, Beezie Madden and McLain Ward. With Charlie Jayne as the alternative.

Sounds like the perfect team to me, I cannot imagine it's possible for them to get anything other than gold!

I don't follow the olympics :/ It's interesting but I don't know a thing about it and no one here shares my interest (here as in at my house)

But awesome that they have a fab team formed!

Years ago Olympic coverage was about showing the competitions, Granted it may have changed but I doubt it. The last time I watched TV coverage was horrendous. This was back in the 90's. FOr every hour on, 23 minutes of commercials, 22 minutes of "culture" travel channel BS about hosting area, and only 15 minutes of coverage most of which was talking about it instead of showing it. Some great events with great athletes going on, unfortunately American TV has no interest in actually showing them.
freia, Ripplewind and Horsealot like this.

American TV doesn't show much in the way of jumping, especially the equestrian events in the Olympics. But a lot of it is available online.

I've been watching most of the GP jumping on The United States Equestrian Federation

Sky my family doesn't share my excitement either, but they know to quieten down when I am watching it online. I was watching the GP yesterday afternoon at Spruce Meadows, it was the final competitor in the jump off and I knocked my tea all over my computer table. My husband got up and came over with paper towels to clean it up for me so I wouldn't miss the round. He's pretty cool for a none horsey guy. :)

Being from the UK I'm in a different position in that I'm following the announcements and dramas of the UK team.

Thankfully we have the glorious BBC over here to show the olympic (BBC has NO adverts at all) and they will be showing it live!!

I'm been following the eventing short list on Eventing Nation, so excited for them to make the final selections!

I do find it disappointing that our competitiors are stressing over beating each other, while other countries that have chosen their teams already can focus on supporting one another.

Mary King, William Fox-Pitt, Piggy French, Zara Phillips and Tina Cook are the Eventing nominations. I don't think the dressage and SJ teams are out yet. I'm very excited to be going to the SJ on 4th August

Waiting for the Canadian teams annoucement, they say first week in July, extremely interested to hear who Eric Lamaze will take.

I wish there was better coverage here, they have it on without to much commercial crap BUT it's usually aired at some stupid hour like 3 am, thank goodness for PVR's haha
