The aussie team is:

Chris Burton Holstein Park Leilani
Chris represented Australia at the World Equestrian Games in 2010. This is his first nomination to the Australian Olympic Team.

I have a really stupid question.

I noticed some of the picks for the Olympic team do not use their own horses and ride other people's horses.

Why?

Because horses that are that valuable are often owned by a consortium of people.
Also these riders get paid to produce these horses to that level.

I was just reading today that one of the events in "modern pentathlon" is show jumping. I've never seen it. I wonder how much those athletes work on their riding skills?

Not much ponyboy. I watched the last olympics and very very few could see a stride at all.Lots of flatting legs and arms and silly falls

I used to compete in the modern pentathlon, however I just could not be competative with those that were serious swimmers or runners.

US eventing team announced!

Will Coleman and Twizzel
Karen O'Connor and Mr. Medicott
Phillip Dutton and Mystery Whisper
Tiana Coudray and Ringwood Magister
Boyd Martin and Otis Barbotiere

I'm pretty bummed Sinead didn't make it; she's had a great year with the exception of dressage at Barbury.

I'm really looking forward to the Olympics, I like the US team, especially for eventing. Honestly, I'm excited to see all the goes, no matter the country. I hope the Olympics return to North America at some point when I can go, nothing beats watching it live... especially when our typical viewing options are 3am. Grr.

Any news on France, Germany, and Ireland?

Reviving this thread, so I can post that TV times will be available here.
2012 Summer Olympics | Video, Schedules, Results, TV | NBC Olympics

Looks like it's possible to watch live online streams of the events there too.
Corporal and uflrh9y like this.
