Oh, my little Lizzy likes to jump.

How great for me, "She-who-cannot-jump-well".

I'll tell the not-so-eventful story.

We were all trail riding and here in Ohio a while ago, there was a storm that knocked down a bunch of trees, well there were some trees down back where we were riding. We're going down one trail and there is a tree that fell down. Well, what you had to do to get over it was you go up this hill and step over the end of the tree, well Lizzy was pretty ignorant that day so we decided to climb higher and go around the end, she was having none of this. So eventually we got over the tree. Then, of course, we came up to another tree, but there was no way around it. So one person steps their horse over it, then another. I was on the most green horse there, they were all trail pros but Lizzy isn't. The tree that was down was about a foot high, nothing she couldn't step over, so we walk up to this tree, investigate, seek out our options, and decide we don't want to go over it. I push her back up to the tree she does the exact same thing. One more time, then she jumps it. The unsuspecting me, looked like an idiot with the whole "" face on. And the guy behind me says "At least she knows to tuck her legs! She cleared it by like three inches!" So I say to the leader, I think when she's done growing I'll train her to jump!!!

Oh the joys of youngsters.

back legs hanging

what do you do about a horse that jumps with his back legs hanging?

We were free jumping our horses yesterday. Our mare was so pretty going over. Our experienced jumper did lovely of course.

The new TB that I picked up this fall cleared the rails, but his back legs hung each time in quite ugly form. I can't believe he was even clearing them.
