over jumping....has it ever made you fall?

Well my barn owner bought a new horse and wanted me to ride her. She is a 16.1 hand TB mare and I said ok. We set up a 2 foot jump and she over jumped it by almost 2 feet. It popped me out of the saddle and over her head. Has this ever happened to you?

Yes, but no I've never fallen off from it. The highest I ever jumped was 4ft.... over a six inch cross pole. My horse actually clipped the top of the standard he jumped so high (and crooked) It was his first time jumping flowers and he thought they might just kill him, lol

My mare has done this but so far I've never fallen off from it. However, I did somehow manage to land on her butt from her overjumping once. She stopped dead in her tracks like 'WHAT...THE????" LOL

Her 'thing' is to slow way down towards the jump, then overjump it.

It usually leaves me going without stirrups LOL

On saturday I was jumping one of the horses I train & he decided to jump a 2ft jump like it was 5ft ! [my friend was watching & said he jumped over the 5ft standard] then he landed & started bucking downhill....thanks a lot buddy ! Haha it hurt so bad bc I landed on my face & shoulder but oh well ! He's a total drama queen.

Pssht, you want to talk about over jumping, try riding Nelson! LOL! He even takes big spots as well. I came out of my tack once, while schooling over a Training or was it Novice ? Trak fence.

    But other than that, no.

    Here Traks start at Novice.

I know this is a horrible shot - but it gives you the idea. The middle, is a ditch jump for BN, to the left you can see the N Trak and to the right you can see the T Trak
