Possibly the worst riding I have ever seen

I do think that the riding phase should be dropped. Absolutely. The riders cannot ride well, and are putting themselves and their mounts at risk. They do not ride well.

There are bad riders in EVERY discipline. I think they should be penalized as well.

Again, the fact that 95% of the Pentathletes cannot ride well is alarming. If you're going to string 5 sports together where one incorporates another living being, it should be treated with respect rather than a creature to hang on to, kick n' steer and hope for the best.

I've made my points well and clear.

i was REEEEEALLY hoping i'd get to see that chick eat some arena sand. But alas, that horse allowed her to rip on his face the entire course, aimlessly kick him in circles, and miss miss miss to every fence.
I don't particularly care what kind of "athletes" these women might be, bad riding is bad riding. Period.

BSMS, I don't want the pentathlon to drop riding. I just want the people who participate in it to actually care about riding. My expectation aren't that they'll ride as well as people who specialize at it, but that there is not refusals and poles at every fence.

The sport is called the PENTAthlon. Five sports. It's meant to be a hard sport. In the OLYMPICS you should be at least decent in all five sports.

What I remember seeing from the video was a majority of people who seemed like they were never even really trained for jumping. (Not sure if this was more in the women's video or the men's, but whatever). This is unacceptable to me.

I'm not asking people to "pussify" the sport.

I only skipped through it up to 30 minutes, some I don't see a problem with, e.g. The first rider looks ok to me. But that rider 30 minutes in... the horse did look challenging but she really wasn't doing herself any favours... poor horse
