Joshie- idid not know that you ask your horse to jump, or give him a cue, I just let the horse jump whenever, he knows when its the right time
Well, that depends on how educated your horse is. If you are on a Been There Doe That Mount who knows where his spots are and has an eye, then yes. They are babysitters and can do the job for you.
Go to a barn where they work on primarily Hunter/Jumpers and you will find lesson horses who are push button. For the Green Riders - such as yourself - can learn and grow on.
I really, really, really cannot stop emphasising that you Morgan, really need to take lessons. For your horses sake.
Your horse is NO WHERE near at an educated nor experienced level where a green rider should be jumping him.
This goes to any green rider - - - - - Because this horse has no clue what it is doing. And when a horse who has no clue what it is doing or should be doing or how to be doing it - has a Green rider who knows just as little as the horse, one of the two, if not both - are going to end up hurt.
Not because of smashing through a fence, I really couldn't care if a rider gets tossed head over heels - but my heart goes out to the horse.
Morgan, I hate seeing in vids on how you think you have the right to discipline your poor horse by hauling on his face like that...and I know MANY uneducated riders do the same - and it makes me cringe and it makes my heart sink. I hate seeing a horse being punnished for rider ignorance. I hate riders who blame the horse for their behaviour - when the horse is only running away from their rider. I hate it, hate it, hate it - and if I ever see it in person - I'd be a force to recon with.
I hate to see what you do to that horse behind closed doors...if you are quick to haul on his face with no remorse, I hate to know what you do to him physically because the results are not what you want....
Back to all riders - If you do not know how to ask the question correctly, you are not going to get the right answer from your horse. Your horse only knows as much as you do!
And I would be devistated to hear that you got rid of him because "he knows nothing" when in all reality - it is you. That goes to all riders.
9x out of 10 - the horse is the one who ends up punnished in the long run because they are ridden, owned and handled by ignoramuses who have lack of education - who. I dispise riders who blame their horses.
Ok - rant over...stepping off my soap box and going to work....
On another note - that girl on that little Paint Pony - CAN RIDE!!! GO GIRL! She sure does represent this sport well.
