Stormy, sounds like you had a very good time. Its great that you got so much video. I would sit down and watch it with your trainer. Its a great learning tool.

Morganshow, some horses are very good at picking spots and some old schoolmasters actually do better if you just stay out of there way. However most horses need the support of their rider especially if you are jumping a line of two or three jumps. There should be communication between rider and horse as your are approaching, its something that you really need a trainer to help with.

PS I was writing this same time MIE was so sorry if redundant

Joshie- It was my first time EVER jumping stuff like that so I know I looked absalutly horrid and I was totally blessed to be on my amazing schoolmaster. I have alot to work on before I look and am perfect but if we are perfect, then why are we riding with trainers. And anyway, I didn't put this up for critique.

Wait, I thought you were on an Eventing Team and have been Eventing for years prior. Didn't you do a Mini Event not that long ago, which means you've had to of jumped CC fences???

Why must you aways get so confrontational whenever peope want to reach out and help you. Joshie was concerned as quite a few others are after seeing that CC vid. You are very insecure in your tack, you have a very insecure seat and you have to realize that you cannot ride like that on a CC course or you will definatley get into allot of trouble.

That's why you came off with Stormy at your little Mini Trial. If you jumped ahead on her like you do throughout that whole video you just posted - it's no wonder you came off of her when she put the breaks on.

Of course being out on the CC course is a blast and great fun - no one wants to take that away from you. And of course you should be proud of what you guys got to do that day on the course with your friends.

We all have to start somewhere and we all realize you are a very green rider and have a long way to go - we all have issues to work on, regardless of how long we've been in the saddle, so it is understandable that Joshie is only trying to be helpful - no one wants to see you get hurt.

Those jumps look like a lot of fun. I want that little pinto...

I know! That little pinto and his rider sure do make it look very easy eh!
    08-11-2009, 02:38 PM
Yeah, exactly. I saw that and I was like I CAN DO THAT! Which is...the opposite of true lol

Ah ha ha ha yeah - wait till you are on a horse, facing those fences. Lol.....then you'll be saying "wait.......ahhhh, about that Dressage idea again?"

Naw I'm kidding - I love CC fences! They are so natural, welcoming, flowing and not intimidating. But then again, I'd do CC before I do Stadium.

Haha. Yeah, totally. I don't think I'll be jumping those fences anytime soon, but I can just drill the dressage in the meantime:P

Which Pinto? The black and white or the brown and white?

It's not that I'm not secure in my seat, it's that I am not pushing my weight into my heels and ancoring myself down and around enough. It was the first time I had down banks and ditches and a proper Novice Water.
