    Quick Woot. :]

Had my first official jumping lesson on Zeus! We did courses of jumps less than a foot high but we were too lazy to change them and it was only my third time jumping him over anything. He was wonderful! He got a little heavy sometimes, like he does, and so I was at liberty to throw in as many circles as I needed throughout the course. It was super nice. My trainer was pleased in general with how I rode him. I have a feeling that I overjumped a teeny bit but I was never sure whether he'd jump big or not since I'm not quite that used to his jump yet. He's so round over jumps, it's a nice feeling. He never trotted over a single fence even though they were so little some were more like ground poles. And the main thing she said when I asked how I looked was what I mentioned, but that I was in no way hindering him and was very effective. I also need to work on not throwing his face away over the jumps. But for now, it's better than catching him in the mouth. I want to start getting a jump lesson every other week. It's from the same trainer who I get dressage lessons from. She's wonderful.

I'm going to try and get some pictures or a video the little jumps this weekend.
Because I really want to see for myself how I look.

    Anyway, yay!

No I've been jumping since I was like eight. Just my first jump lesson on my new horse, so we kept it low.

Congrats and I am super happy for ya! Keep up the great work!

Don't let people make you feel "low" because you jumped small fences. Remember what George Morris says "It's the quallity of the fence that matters, not the height"

And I would far rather see someone doing 2'0" fences solidly and comfortably, than flying over 3'6" fences with atrocious, unsecure form.

    So ride on!

Thanks you guys. The height doesn't bother me, I haven't jumped in a lesson in a few years so I'd much rather perfect my position over little stuff than muck up a bigger fence just to get the height right now.

Yes he does! We've been doing a bit of jumping each lesson and he's very happy.
Still want to get pics! I swear I will one of these days.
