Whoaa guys, this thread wasn't intended for a SMB v. Open front debate. Lets get back on track I was just asking about the roma open fronts. I understand we all have our opinions but if you want to express those make a seperate thread for that :) thanks

They're nice boots, not my TOP favorite, but not the worst.I personally stick to my leather open-fronts, go bare, or use my SMB's... Depends on the day or the horse.. But I have several Pony Clubber friends who use the Roma boots and they love them..

Congrats on the new item. =)

I've never owned SMB's but I've been on horses who's owners demanded that I put them on. And I thought they were nice, but they retain water very easily. Guess it depends on what sport you do.

I don't like the Roma's for two reasons: A) they have fleece. And B) They are open fronts. I really don't see the point in open fronts at all. Why not protect the horse's legs all the way around

My vote is for Woof boots

See, I don't see the point of Open Fronts either - they have become such a big fad, for what? If you have a horse that tucks and avoids the fences already, what's the point?

I don't understand why people hate fleece so much haha. I just throw in the washer and bam clean. Lol and eventerdrew the woof boots do look nice :) and I guess I have just always had a thing for open front boots being a hunter/jumper

Oh and thank you Tripp for the input :) I know they're not the best quality boots but for just schooling around the barn and jumping small fences I think they are great :)

I actually tend to love fleece. Then again i'm a little odder than most haha. They'll be fine for what you want and they should hold up well. =)

I love the fleece as well.. I use a feed bucket with soap and water and I scrub them with my hands and rinse them off .. the dirt comes right off..

I've never tried those before! But they look like they'd hold up well, you'll just have to make sure you wash them.

I have these that I absolutely LOVE! :) They're neoprene lined with a tendon support. Got them for about $30 when they usually go for around $130!
