Thank you! He is seriously the best thing to ever happen to me Rarely has a rail and is unbeatable in jump offs.. Of course it helps that we've been partners for 8 years now! :)
This was the very first day I had my horse on trial with me. I trotted up to this wee little oxer and he jumped the heck out of it. I thought it was pretty funny. He has since learned how to contain his jump for when it's more necessary to jump big. He's competitive to about a meter thirty.
I would love to see someone whom might have a horse with some big jumper blood lines. It seems like most of us folks on the forum have jumper horses/ponies that were more... accidentally talented! Haha!
"Scooter" was a forgotten little pony that belonged to the barn owner at a place I boarded. He was untrained, occasionally used as amusement for the grand kids who came to visit twice a year and feed him treats. He was by far the CUTEST pony I had ever seen and the owner allowed me to train him and putz around with him. He was still young (only 5) and was 175lbs OVERWEIGHT, but as I worked with him I realized how amazing he was. I had the joy of riding him and treating him as my own for a year, took him to a small show where he competed at 2'6 and rocked the jump off with his exceptional speed and tight turns! Unfortunately they no longer board and now he's alone in a pasture and the owner refuses to sell him, it breaks my heart! I do however have plans of confronting the owner again and asking to purchase Scoot, its been over a year and he's been in a 17acre field so I guess it depends on if he's even still alive and doesnt have cushings by now!
During training I managed to take Scooter as high as 3'3 with me on him....and im 5'2 and weighed 115lbs and he is ONLY 12.2h!!! He was often found jumping jumps on his own out in the field lol he loved it!
So heres Scooter in action :)
Jumping at his showed height of 2'6
2'9 look at that concentration!
3'3!!! Look at those legs tucked!....oh wait, what legs?! Lol
I hate seeing those ponies with a heart to jump, that just happened to end up as a pony. You know a ton of them would be Olympics material if only they had been born in the right body!
Wow!! These horses jumping is amazing! Well I've only jumped twice in my life and never got any pictures of it. It was a crossrail, only about a foot and it was my first time jumping but it felt like flying! I want to continue jumping I think it's so much fun! Wonderful ponies/horses everyone they have amazing jumps!
