SJ Attire/Turnout/Tack questions

Its been a looooong time since me and the little fella have been anywhere near the show circuit, so I'm now completely clueless as to what to fit him and myself out in.

I'm considering entering my 12.3hh welsh pony in a few little jump classes these coming months (nothing above 65cm) and was hoping for some input as to what we can/can't/should/shouldn't be wearing?

I'm only looking for a bit of fun really, not too fussed on the winning aspect... just want to get the pony out there!

Myself - Should I wear a show jacket with stock? With vest and tie? No jacket? Navy or black (Maybe I can slyly slip into my school blazer and hope no one notices )? Cream jodhies obviously but are pull ons okay or do I *have* to pull out the (horror!) uncomfortable suede stickybums? Short black boots with gaiters? Black top boots? Or should I just be in the short boots and jodhy clips (I'm 16)?

Pony - Black bridle or brown (If I can borrow or buy a black saddle sometime soon I'd use the black bridle but is this correct)? Coloured open fronts okay or must they be black or brown? Plain browband? Coloured saddle pad or a black or white one? He'd be put in a royal blue or hunter green saddle pad if coloured was okay. Fitted saddle pad or not? Can I use a (shock horror!) blue synthetic wintec if I'm just competing for fun or is this against regulation? Martingale or no?

Turnout - Should I plait his mane or leave it au naturale? Plaited tail? Clear highlighter on the face? Black makeup? Clip out his socks? Trace clip? Hunter clip? No clip? Paint his hooves? (I think I'm thinking like the showy I once was ;P)

This is the show I'm thinking of entering - Strathalbyn Show Jumping Club
The freshmans class probably.

I've included a few photos of the little boy for colour matching.

Unrelated but out of purple, royal blue and hunter green what show colours suit him? (I wish he still had his beautiful dapples *sniffle*)

Cudos to anyone who gets through my bombardment of questions!

NB: His crest looks abnormally large in the first photo.. but its not usually like that so I must have gotten a weird angle.

Also, I'll put up some photos of us jumping as soon as I get some new ones.
The class I'm intending on isn't until late September so I've got a while to practice but when I get the photos up I'd LOVE some critique and tips (:

Hmm, well I'm in the US, so don't know if I'll be much help. Conservative is probably always better, just in case. Try to find out if "schooling attire is permitted". If it is, you don't need the jacket and tall boots. So you could go with your jods and paddock boots. If no mention is made of schooling attire, you should have tall boots if you can, and a jacket. I have heard of people wearing a non horsey jacket and doing just fine in it. I think for jumpers black or navy is OK. For hunters, I think you avoid black.

Have fun.

Oooh, I think a grey hunt coat would look fantastic with him. He's adorable!! I don't much about hunt show clothing. Just wanted to weigh in on color.

Thanks for the complements on Vince :3
He looked simply amazing last night, galloping around the paddock with tail streaming and then prancing around picking his legs up so high... carrying on like a stallion
BUT I didn't have a camera with me ):

MyBoyPuck - is this what you mean by grey? Or do you mean a grey tweed?

MaryMary - I've been looking through and I think the dress for what I'm interested in entering is fairly casual... Theres photos of people from their last competition wearing brown suede boots and a maroon jumper! There is a 'freshmans' part and a 'competition' part so I guess the dress would switch to formal in the competition classes?
