Sooooo Proud!!!

Hey all!

I just had to post on here because I am just so proud of my boy!

He is a 15.2 Hann x Irish Tb, he is rising 5 this year and so I have begun to do some pole, grid and jump work with him, which he just adores. Tiny of course!

Here he is as a 3yr old

4yr old

And unfortunately I don't have any of now, but I will definitely get some soon!

My trainer (David Austin- who is a well known showjumper in the midlands, uk especially) advised me to start taking him away from home to a few shows to let him soak it all up! Well he has been to a few in hand jobbies as a youngster but never been away from home and ridden.

I decided to take him to a mini jumping evening at a place called gracelands. It was a midweek evening so very quiet for him. He loaded like and angel, came off like and angel, was tacked up and stood looking around then I jumped on board and took him for a wonder in the largest outdoor arena he had ever been in. He was such a pro that I proceeded to jump the tiny (like 1foot) upright and then onto the 1ft9 spread. I then walked him over to the other practice ring, which is indoor and very scary as it is next to the road which they can't see. There was a my little pony filler of about 2ft in there and so I just quietly trotted him to it and he popped it without even a 2nd glance!

My friend who was helping me said that I should put him in for the little clear round and just jump whatever I fancied.....i thought well yeh lets go for it, no pressure, ill just walk round if he gets uncomfortable about it all!

I didnt even no the course and am notorious for panicking and forgetting it but because he stayed so calm and easy we ended up going round the whole thing happily and CLEAR, no stops, no silly business and no problems whatsoever!!!

I am such a wuss when it comes to showjumping after having many a nasty fall in my youth, but he, my little star just popped round like "my god mom these are tiny". Even though there were all sorts of fillers in there with viaduct walls, water trays, brush fences all of which he had never seen before!

He then walked over to the box, was untacked and walked straight on! Why can't they all be like that! Hehe

Sorry for going on and on but im soooo happy!

Elz xx

Good Job! He's soo pretty! There's a little 4 year old pony at our barn that I jump sometimes over little 2'6 walls:) he makes it fun to jump and makes your position look really good, hehe. But again, Congrats to ya! I hope y'all do some more shows. He would make a very pretty jumper.
