Default Starting Jumper Lessons

So, I am starting jumping lessons this next week I have done jumping a few years back, and it was quite fun!
But, I could never get my position correct.. i didnt really understand what my instructor was saying.. shoulders up, stomach sucked down..
but when I look at pics and internet articles I know the proper position. But, when I ride, I cant tell what I look like, so I feel weird.

Does anyone have any tips for getting in the proper position and developing it? Or any pictures, videos?

Thanks!!

Practice the correct position off of your horse. Stand on the ground, knees bent, abs engaged, shoulders back. It sounds silly, but it really helps!

That really does help! It's definitely not the same as riding a horse, but if you do your 'two-point' and look in a mirror, you can see what you need to fix. Granted, things may not be exactly the same on a horse, but you can fix the glaring problems :). Also, two-point at walk, trot, and canter will work wonders :). Same with no-stirrup two-point.

Sorry totally forgot about this :P
I took a jumping lesson last week, and it was soo fun! But really hard.
Jumping is the complete opposite of western. haha
Lean forwards, reins short, knee bent, leg back, heels down, eyes up, turn with shoulder.
Its so complicated! haha I was horrible! But, it was fun :)

thanks guys I should do that!
