I see from your other thread that he's a Dutch Warmblood.
Any horse can jump, and any horse will potentially injure himself if he's not fit and trained for jumping.
Absolutely he will be capable of doing some powerful jumping - he's bred to be a powerhouse! But you must work with your instructor so that both you and he progress at a sensible speed. He must learn the basic techniques of jumping, he must build up strength gradually, and you must exercise caution with regard to height and frequency of jumping.
So long as you follow these guidelines then you and he should enjoy yourselves
Get up, get going, seize the day. Enjoy the sunshine, the rain, cloudy days, snowstorms, and thunder. Getting on your horse is always worth the effort.
