Smile Want to start Jumps

I have a nice mare that does the pleasure english, western you no stuff like that we took 2nd at our fair with some small hunter hack jumps. I would like to do more of that with her not to big because she has a bum foot but it doesn't affect her running because I used her in barrels. But I don't want her landed weird and breaking it. But I was just wondering can anyone help me with where I should start because she doesn't really like to pick up her feet but she will if I push her. Any suggestions?

A good trainer can help you and your horse. I know my trainer has helped me with my millions of problems, lol! Good luck!

hmm anything other then a trainer can't really afford a trainer right now, please don't comment if you've seen my other posts that say I have a trainer, yes I might but he's just a really good friend and only charges me 1/3 of what he charges everyone else. Any other options?

There are some really good books out there on jumping, and you can probably find some at your city library.

start with poles on the ground to get her used to stepping over things. Then use some raised cavelettis so she gets used to picking up her legs. Walking, trotting, and then eventually cantering over them.

How do you define "bum foot"? Jumping, even the little stuff, can really put a lot of stress on a horse's foot, esp the front.
