We Cantered Our First Jumps Together!

Hey,

Well today I realized Chinga has never cantered over jumps..... So today I decided that we would do some low jumps (only planning to trot) and if I felt his feet were getting sore I would stop. Well he hadn't been ridden for a week.... (We all know where this is ). So we were trotting over these jumps, and he had so much energy built up (even though he was only getting 2 biscutes of hay not his grain). He was landing the smallest of jumps at a canter. Then we raised the bar and I asked for a canter over the jump, he leaps, he clears and he lands perfectly~! . I was SOOOO PROUD! He thinks its more fun to canter over jumps to trot over them now. I am so happy we finally did it!

He even got all his strides perfect up to the jump and it was most likely the best jump we ever did! I just had to tell everyone!

I'm not training Pumpkin anymore and Chinga seems to be getting the hang of this jumping thing.... I'm going to need to get a second horse that is pysco to train!.

Please no bad comments or critique!

Thanks!

Sir Success. Eventer.

i'll come and help you chose considering I wanted Pumpkin to be mine when I was young. I'll be an expert at choseing the most pysco horse in the world!!!

I agree pysco horses are the best, most fun ever!. I have a dales x irish, had him since he was 6 month and he was brill, for a year I couldnt get on him as he wouldnt be long on chucking me off haha. Now we are jumping BSJA together and its amazing, he was a total pest to work with but its brought us so close together, he's now 8 and doing better than I had ever imagined :)

Disobdeince? Does have a funny way of bonding the owner and horse together.
