At first we didn't want to jump, but we were so glad we did. I was on Silver Sabre, and flamingauburnmustang was on her nutty mare Night Heat...
First, after we warmed up, we worked on trotting poles, at working, extended, and collected trot. At first the mares were quite excitable and were placing their feet everywhere (Night Heat actually jumped the poles the first time lol), but soon calmed down and did it great. Then we started the actual jumping.
We had an upright at about 40cm, and we took turns trotting them over it. The aim of the lesson was to get them calm to a jump, and to get them to jump more up instead of long, which is what the tend to do. After about 3 times each, it got raised to 60cm, which we also did a few times.
Then, to our horror , it got raised to 80cm, which neither of us had ever jumped on these mares (Night Heat has done it, but this was the first time in a long while). We had a ground pole, which helped alot, and we both cleared it easily at trot, and at canter.
We were very proud of our nutty mares, as it was a HUGE achievement. Sorry bout the length, but to end off, here's a pic of the mares:
