I've jumped a lot of horses and they have all gone in something different from snaffles to Pelhams.
My horse jumped for a long time in a Fishback/Wedge for a long time and we moved up to a Pelham and he greatly improved. Now I'm not a beginner rider, and have been in training for a long time with the same trainer and I do a lot of flat work with my horse, and before I started jumping 11 years ago I did Dressage for two years.
Less then a year in the Pelham and hacking out a lot and a lot of lower level fences, we switch to a copper mouthed wire snaffle and I am so pleased with him :) |
