When did you start....?

For all you riders who love to jump their horses, when did you start riding?
When did you start jumping?
Did you ride in college?
What do you do now?
What kind of shows do you compete in?

I started riding when I was 7, started jumping when I was 7 :P
I was 9 when I did my first competition (I think), that was a 1ft 6'' SJ class on a pony called Barney and I also rode a pony called Peanut :)

Now I do SJ competitions and want to do country shows (but haven't yet). I want to go on to compete for my university.

I started riding at 4, I started jumping around 8 or 9. I ridden all the way until I was 17 competing in some rated hunter shows, some schooling shows and some jumper shows. Then from the age of 17 to 24 I stopped riding because I just wasn't into it anymore.

I just got back into riding about 6 months ago, I got a great opportunity to train horses for one of my trainers that I knew when I was younger. I'm very glad that this came along. If not then I don't think I would be have ever ridden again. I did one show so far, I'm not to into the show scene that much anymore. Also the horse I'm training made a lot of progress which I'm proud of.

I do hunter/jumpers, but lately have been doing more jumpers.

I never went to college

Now, I try to get out of the house as many times a week as I can to ride my horse!

I'm not competing at the moment - I hope to do dressage, showjumping and one day eventing (only low level tho'!)

I had my first jump when I was 11 did my first jumping course when I was 13 and am doing serious, bigger jumps now at 14.

I've never done a show but I've competed and got 2nd place in dressage.

Started riding at 11, started jumping a bit at 13, switched disciplines to H/J at 14.

I still take lessons, I compete Hunters and Eq and we dabble in the Jumpers.

At 30, I no longer jump...at all. I would much rather go around then over!

Everyone started so much younger than me. I just now started at 16 about ay ear ago.
