    Would we be ready?

I reallly want to show out barns shetland just for fun of it at the first barn show this season. It's next weekend and I have been riding her for about a month. We are jumping 1ft 9in right now and she does it just fine. I know she could go higher, but the show jumping starts at 2ft. I do NOT want to take her into hunters because we would look like fools. But, do you think we could do well? As in not knock down every rail? I will be going to the barn twice a week to ride her and get ready for this show. Here is a video from yesterday (the 17th). She did try to bolt twice and she has a bad problem with it but I did a one rein stop. It only took her twice to notice that she would not get away with it this time. She never really gave me any problems after that. She was being really good for me.

My feeling is if you want to campaign that pony for sale, then showing is the best way. However, the pony needs some serious training, some serious schooling, and much more balance before [in my opinion] one should go careening around a jumper course. The folks that would buy a pony like that would be someone wanting to purchase for their child... and that pony has some work to do before it would be suitable for a child to show.
But hey, if you want to just motor around at a schooling show for fun, then hell why not?!
