Hello, I'm Arabesca, and I'm glad to be a member on this site. I had a little bit of experience with horses in 5th grade and about 2 years ago, but I had to quit doing my horse related things because of the economy and it left me with nothing. Since I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing anymore I've decided to start from the beginning at an equestrian center I found close to me. I was learning English riding before, however, I've switched to Western riding for now.
My first lesson was actually on Sunday and it went alright. I rode with a friendly 9 year old that I believe I might become friends with. Rusty (the instructor) said that we were actually pretty good for starting out and that she wanted to take us on a trail ride next lesson. The horse I rode was named Rambler and he was laid back. I enjoyed riding him, though, even if I had some rough spots every once in a while.
I'm hoping that when I get enough experience, I can get a horse of my own. I'll make sure that I can afford it before I purchase. I'll take my sweet time to make sure I find the right horse for me as well. I'd really like to get an Arabian. They are one of my favorite breeds. I know that there are some mixed feelings and opinions about Arabians, but I don't really care as long as I stay true to my heart and what I believe. I'm one of those people who can respect everyone's opinion even if I don't agree.
I joined this site to maybe get some hints or tips about riding and learn more about horses in general. I want to stock up on all the knowledge I can get because it will help me in the future. I may make mistakes, but I'll always learn from my mistakes and get better. Uh, I should probably end this introduction here, it's getting really long and I don't want you to be reading this for hours! Sorry about the length!
