Hey everybody, I'm Mitch, and I generally can't keep myself off of forums. Or from showing up at the barn an unhealthy number of days a week, hence joining the Horse Forum. I'm 30 years old, and I started riding when I was 6. English mostly, much to the dismay of my grandfather who trained western pleasure horses. (Somehow he wasn't impressed by my ability to perform a half pass or jump a rolltop...) I'm too broke to own a horse now, but I half lease a TB named Silver who is, unsurprisingly, grey. I call him Mr. Original Name. I ride hunter/jumper, just local shows (I mentioned the mostly broke part, right?). I am the worst kind of perfectionist, meaning if I had the cash I would probably be one of those people in a full time training program spending every day lamenting over every tiny mistake. Instead I just exercise other people's horses on days I'm not lessoning or riding my lease horse. Nice to meet y'all. Happy riding.
Hey Mitch, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a great sense of humor. There's a lot of interesting and fun people here so hope you enjoy. Please do show us photos of Mr. Original soon.
Cedar Haven Stables is where I've been for the past six months. It's a small barn, mostly the owner's horses and a few pleasure boarders. Used to be Roundabout Stables a couple of years ago? I lesson with Kelsey Magid. Where does your wife teach?
Hey Mitch! That perfectionist itch isn't anything to be ashamed of, it beats the opposite for certain. Enjoy your time with Silver there, he looks like a mellow dude!
