I am glad to hear cats aren't on the menu. Whew...ya had me worried.lol I raised my first batch of meat chickens this summer. Butchered them myself with some help from a couple of friends and had some real emotion about it. That's ok. I'm not a vegetarian but I care about animals and I want to know an animal was treated with kindness and respect, even if it's destined for the table. You just have to know from the beginning what its purpose is. No body is actually born with a certain color thumb you know. The only difference between a black thumb and a green one is just some learnin and experience. We're on the right track to self sufficiency if we take one baby step in that direction...then another.

There are times, when I could string up the kids but the cat provides endless hours of entertainment and keeps my legs warm when I'm in the bathroom!

Don't get me wrong, I always try to grow things! We're going to attempt a small garden this year. We eat the heck outta veggies!! 'Course, I don't know what I'll do without the need to go to the Farmer's Market. Oh wait, yes I do! I can ride Chili !!!! Ah, darn!!! LOL
