Greetings From Ohio

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello I'm Kat and I'm from Northern, Ohio. Have had horses most of my life. My husband and I used to take in rescues, we have since gotten divorced and I had to give up rescuing. I'm still very active in horses though!

I look forward to meeting others and being part of the board.

A warm and hearty welcome to the forum! Do you still have horses? Where in OH are you from? My father-in-law is from Findlay, and my mother-in-law was from New Philadelphia.... I've only been to Sandusky! :)

welcome to the forum. I am in California and the prices here for feed are outrageous now. Many rescues are having problems, and I am sure there are rescues in your area that would need help. Maybe you could volunteer and still be a part of the rescue. Oh, and a couple people on this forum have problems with the words rescued and saved.. lol.. just a heads up , so if you get a comment just ignore them... lol..

Yeah I have thought about volunteering and would not mind it at all. There aren't any around where I am though. I help out with taking care of others horses though and still have one of my own too. Thanks for the heads up

Welcome from the Paint mares in NC. My wife and I grew up in Cleveland (but I don't miss the snow).

Oooh, would love to see a photo of your Clydesdale!! The only family my husband has in OH now is an uncle.
After they graduated from OSU (in the 1940's), my in-laws got married and moved to MI where my FIL finished med school. Funny story - my FIL originally wanted to be a Country Vet, as he admired James Herriot. He loves his dogs, but decided to become an M.D. Instead after realising he was very intimidated around horses and cattle! Loves them on the other side of the fence, however. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", as the old saying goes, because my tall, outdoorsy husband is exactly the same - he thinks my mares are beautiful and enjoys giving them carrots and stroking their nose. But always from the other side of the fence :)

Thank you! I hate the snow...we have so much of it right now. I lived in NC for a bit a few years ago, I miss it down there.
