Hallo, wie gehts?

Hi all!

Probably should have posted in here first as I joined yesterday and hit the forums!

I'm Sophie, I live in Germany with the British Army. I have a 6yo Westphalen called Duffy who I saved and saved and saved for. Bought her in June, and as you can see on my profile she wasn't in the best condition when I bought her! She's doing so much better now and I will have more pictures up before you know it.

I have very little knowledge on western riding, but my passion is dressage! Unfortunately, it would appear Duffy has a better appetite for jumping than dressage, just my luck! Looks like I'll be learning to jump VERY shortly haha!

Hope to see you all round the forum soon :)

I live in a wee village not far from Dusseldorf, but I've lived pretty much all over at different times! Spent most of my life out here! Austria is about 4/5 hrs from here I think!

It is superb! The horses out here are amazing!! I live in horse world, there are three stables within walking distance, and its a great horsey community!

Give me a german warmblood, and a german riding instructor any day!
Mine is a trainer of the horse. She doesn't care if I'm ill, sick, hungover, bones broken, dead. I still have to be on that horse every night haha!

Where does everyone else live? Is it mainly USA, or UK too?

No one really rides out in the snow!!

Saying that I had the most magical hack a couple or years ago. First snow of the season started when we began our ride... big fluffy flakes! Frozen by the time we got back but we're quite unlucky. You either had a wee bit that doesn't last, or like last year we had four weeks where it snowed every day and then becomes really dangerous with all the ice underneath, especially for shod horses!
