Hello :)

Hi!

I'm new to horse forum, and I figured I would introduce myself. Mephys is my username in a few other pet related forums as I am involved with reptiles and turtles as well.

Horses have been my passion as far as I can remember, for at lest 26 years. I lived in the city (I'm from Montreal, Canada) and the closest barn was about 1 hour away. My family couldn't afford me to go have riding lessons or summer camp or anything. So I focused my attention on arts, and starting doing a lot of horse drawings and stuff ( I drew the picture in my avatar). I started going on trails with rental horses when I was 20 with a friend, and did a lot of riding for a couple summers, but it was only western.

Fastforward to now, I moved to Illinois in the Chicago suburbs 4 years ago when I got married, and living with all the horse barns around have been a big tease for me, and the place I now work at (I'm a vet tech) is next to a barn so I have been watching the horses in the pasture at lunch time everyday.

I finally have the time and the opportunity financially to start living my dream. I have met a girl who might be interested in doing shareboarding, and I also met a trainer who is taking me on a ride tomorrow morning and we will talk more about lessons and all. I would love to start riding english, and maybe eventually give a try at Dressage. I am a big fan of Cavalia and saw the show twice, when they first started in Montreal in 2003, and back in 2009 in Chicago.

I hope to get more involved with horses and get more experience, and hopefully own my own horse in a couple years :)

If there is anyone in the Chicago suburbs who has horses that need a rider or someone would would simply like a friend to go on rides, send me a message :)

I'm sure there are some members from your area on here, I may be a tad to far away lol since I'm in Australia :P

Hope everything works out for you and keep us updated
P.S I think you should venture into the art fourm section and show of your art :)

Howdy from Texas! Have you looked into leasing a horse?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it the same as shareboarding? If so, yes I'm looking into that. I have met a girl and her horse already, and I'm meeting a trainer today that might know a few people closer to me.

:) I'm so excited
