Talking Hello :)

Hi, I'm Jessica from Quebec, Canada. =D
I have a passion for Barrel racing and can't wait to get into competition .. maybe pushing stuff too fast , hehe.
I've been on the Forum for 2 weeks, thought I'd introduce myself !
My mare is an Appaloosa crossed Indian Pony.. yes Indian Pony is a breed ;]
She is 15 years old, 14.2 hands.. I've had her since May 15th 2010 !!
I've been horseback riding since I was 9 and i'm now 13.
I rode a horse alone for the very first time at 9, at a summer camp.. Her name was Ginger <3 I miss her alot, this year they unfortunately had to sell the ranch and the horses..
After Ginger, I got my very first horse ( still 9 years old ). She was a rescued Appaloosa crossed mare. Her name was Happy ! I had Happy for 3 years .. she sadly died November 4th 2010
And finally came Tally ( May 15th 2010 ). Tally and I practiced ground work for 11 months. Since then I ride her often. I walk/trot alone with her, and we are finally to the Canter step ( yay ). After that, just basic review on control and I get to go in the arena ( by the way, for now I ride her in the round pen ). Once I get to the arena, I could start training to do barrels.. For summer 2012, I want us to go to our first competition =] I hope everything goes well

Yeah, sorry for telling my life
Here are some pictures :
1st: Ginger
2nd: Happy
3rd: Tally
4th: This is my cat Lily, she is 3 years old

Hello and welcome!
I'm also from canada, though more out west. My mom owns an ex-barrel racer and i've run a few barrels with him... it's so much fun! I'm an english rider mostly, but he's been teaching me western. I also have a horse that was "trained" western, but I see not evidence of this...lol. I would suggest you take you're time with the barrel racing. Try a few local shows and have fun with it, but don't expect too much. I wish you the best of luck =)
