    Hello All from Pool Crafter!

Started riding English as a father/ daughter activity about 15 years ago on teacher's horses. Finally got a couple of horses about 2 years ago. I'm mainly interested in trail riding. Working on finishing up cutting a 2.5 mile trail (bridle easement) around our country subdivision. Still a great father /daughter activity! Pool Girl has a 5 yo Hackney cob mare (Cricket)and I have an 8 yo 17 hand Thoroughbred gelding (Rucus). He's an ex- racer but evidently didn't have enough aggressive nature to be any good at it (although he still likes speed). He's calm and almost bombproof - great for the trail except for crossing water. We're working on that. Pool Girl broke Cricket herself. Fortunately she was an easy break. Looking forward to learning more about maintenance and training of "the beasts" on the Horse Forum.
