Smile Hello! From Callaway County, MO!

    Hi all,

My name is Nikki. I'm relatively new to the horse community. When I was young I spent a couple weekends riding with a friend of mine. Then I road trail rides with girl scouts and did a few other small things like that growing up. My sister went to college in Columbia, MO there she took a couple horse classes and got interested in horses. She bought a horse and boarded it at school for a couple years. Then my parents built a horse barn and we moved him in on my parents property. This all happened just about the time my husband and I found out I was pregnant. So here was this beautiful horse right down the road from me and I was pregnant unable to ride. So began the 9 months of waiting until I could ride Broker. I would go out and love on him through the corral panels any free chance I got. My sister had Broker for 2 years and by the time he came over to my parents barn she was no longer riding him or interested in him. I was chomping at the bit to take him over as my own. On August 20, my beautiful blessing of a baby girl was born. And 2 weeks later I was riding. We had a rough start. It had been a lot of years since I had ridden and it had been a lot of months since he was ridden. He had picked up some bad habits and I had a lot to learn. But we have been working together and getting to know each other for the past 10 weeks. We have come a long way and have really developed a good relationship. Now I think we are ready to go out riding with other people. The only problem is, I don't know anyone to go out riding with. So I came to the forum to look for riding partners located in Mid Missouri.
