    Hello from Canada

Hi there.I am a 45 year old mom of three teen.Loved horses my whole life but did not start any riding or horse stuff until I was 39 yrs old. Nearly 7 years ago.I have 2 horses.Live in a completely non horsey area. Not involved or interested in shows. My 2 geldings are pleasure horses.I ride .No particular dicipline just a mishmash of many types.I go bitless and barefoot.I started as green owner with green horse..bad idea.I have made every single mistake there is to make, but have come a long way.I still have my original green horse who is now ten [belgian/quarter] as well as a very cheeky Newfoundland pony cross.Rusty, who was 13 when I got him and is now 17.He came to me very skinny, sick with heaves and full of worms. He is now a wonderfull little riding pony [13 hh and 700 lbs] but has a little bit of ponytude.I joined the forum just for general info, helpful tips etc.

Hi Newfie. I too, ride bitless, unshod and treeless. Started riding late in life with all the same resume as yours. Horses have taught me my most important life lessons.
