I live on a farm with my husband, five dogs, numerous rabbits (i raise mini rex for show and breeding) and one chestnut OTTB. My hubby is a cotton farmer and we live 15 + miles from the nearest town.
I have been riding since I was able to walk and have been around horses my entire life. I started training off the track horses (QH and TB) for western riding but havent had a horse of my own for a very long time.
I just recently got my OTTB as an early wedding/birthday present from my hubby. His racing name was YOAKUMCOUNTYKID but we call him Rango. When we got him he was severely underweight (still is, working on gainin weight!) and in bad living conditions. I currently just ride him bareback due to waiting for my Aussie saddle to come in (should be here this week - excited!!!).
Hmmm....other than having a horse and training them I also make Australian square and English contoured/square saddle pads in any color desired and I make polo wraps. I am currently working on making bridle bags, hay bags, grooming bag holders etc. to sell. I am a housewife (due to jobs being slim pickings around here....a car accident in march lost me my job at the bank) so I fill my time working with Rango, the bunnies and sewing/making leather crafts. I am also working on a website for my products and things I have for sale.
I suppose y'alld be interested in my little herd of animals =) TOo many rabbits to post so if you want to see them you can visit my rabbitry website at jnpfarms.weebly.com.
